Egg Latte on a Saturday Morning!

No, I don’t mean eating a fried egg with your Cup o’ Joe. I mean putting the egg INTO your coffee.

Yes. You read that right. Drop an egg INTO your coffee. Why?

For starters, you get a boost of protein and fat first thing in the morning. It also mitigates the negative side effects of coffee such as indigestion and cramping. If you’re like me and don’t eat breakfast, it makes sure you’re not ravenous before lunch. It tastes delicious; mimicking a frothy, sugar-filled latte without the espresso machine. The caffeine makes it a great pre-workout, and the protein makes it a great post-workout - I keep it hot in my beloved Zojirushi Mug and drink it throughout the day!

RECIPE

1 Cup of Brewed Coffee (make it HOT)

1 Egg (because I’m allergic, I use a Duck Egg)

Optional Mix-Ins like spices, creamers, sweeteners, supplements, etc

Make your coffee like usual, but make sure to keep it extra-hot - put it in a saucepan if necessary.

Put it in your blender, cover, and turn it on low.

Crack the egg DIRECTLY into the churning coffee and cover.

Rev the blender up to high.

After 15 seconds, add in your other ingredients: MCT Oil, Coconut Oil, Heavy Creamer, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cardamom, sweetener, etc. If you take collagen or any other supplements in your coffee, now is the time to add them!

Keep it on high another 15-30 seconds.
